Passenger vessels are a broad category of merchant ships designed to transport passengers on national and international voyages, ranging from small passenger craft to large cruise ships. Their design is governed by strict international regulations, primarily set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), ensuring safety, stability, evacuation capability, and reliable operation under a wide range of conditions.

Beyond passenger accommodation, the technical design of passenger vessels is highly complex and focuses on the vessel’s internal systems and structural arrangement. This includes the design and integration of piping systems, machinery foundations, structural supports, safety-related systems, and layouts that directly affect vessel stability, movement, redundancy, and overall operational safety. These engineering elements are critical to ensuring compliant, efficient, and safe passenger transport.

Smart Design 2006 has long-standing experience in the engineering design of passenger vessels, with a strong focus on system layout, piping design, foundations, and solutions that support the vessel’s safe operation and performance.
