History
Smart Design 2006 Ltd. was established in January 2006 by a small team of six engineers. Each of the founding members had experience in the field of shipbuilding design, having worked for different foreign companies. Thanks to the good quality services the company grew fast and by the end of 2009 the team comprised of 21 designers. Our good relationships with STX (Aker Yards, nowadays known as VARD Group AS) and our domestic shipyards help us develop our activities. The main services provided are in the field of shipbuilding design. We have gradually expanded our market presence becoming a trusted partner of our customers.
Our plans were logically focused on Power Plant Design. The company has successfully developed as a good and reliable partner of one of the largest Scandinavian companies in the field of Power Plants resulting in our participation in more than 39 projects.
Later on, following the market demand, we started our next activity – Civil Engineering.
A step ahead was our decision to integrate a construction company based in the town of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, as a separate division. Appearing on the market with this experienced and competitive division, we successfully conquered new positions on the field of industrial and commercial design.
Our company consistently uses the latest technological achievements.
We offer 3D Laser Scanning – as one of the latest industrial innovations. 3D Laser Scanner makes it possible to easily digitize the existing situation of the particular ship or building, which is not possible to be achieved employing the conventional measurement methods. When imported in 3D Model area, this information can be used by the experts in repairing, retrofitting and preparing ‘as-built’ documentation.
We always strive to be at the leading edge and to accurately predict the events. Driven by our new ambition, we have opened a new office on the coast of another continent. Since 2015 we have established a branch office in the USA – Irvine, California. In particular, our mission is to meet the needs of the American clients. We are ready to offer high-quality engineering services at a very attractive price for the American market.
Our objective is to demonstrate the company’s potential and to confirm our presence there.
Currently our team consists of 49 qualified naval and power plant engineers.
